This specially designed 16-night, 17-day itinerary offers a relaxed and scenic approach to the Everest Base Camp trek, catering to trekkers aged 55 and above. Experience the majestic beauty of the Himalayas at a leisurely pace, incorporating additional rest days and shorter daily hikes for a more enjoyable adventure.

Skill Level: Easy to Moderate. This itinerary features shorter daily hikes with plenty of rest days for acclimatization. A basic level of fitness is recommended, but previous trekking experience is not mandatory.

Group Size: This itinerary can be tailored for private treks or small group treks with experienced guides who are sensitive to the needs of mature travelers.

Accommodation: Throughout the trek, you'll be staying in comfortable teahouses with clean rooms and basic amenities. Many teahouses offer single rooms for an additional cost, allowing for more privacy and relaxation.

Transportation: Domestic flights from Kathmandu to Lukla (round trip) are included.

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu

Welcome to Nepal! Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you'll be met by our representatives and transferred to your comfortable hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and adjusting to the time difference.

Day 2

Kathmandu Sightseeing and prepare for trek

Explore the vibrant city of Kathmandu at your own pace. Visit historical sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), or wander through the bustling Thamel street. You can also choose to relax at the hotel and enjoy the amenities.

Day 3

Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

An exciting day begins with a thrilling flight to Lukla. Enjoy the breathtaking aerial views before landing at the world's most famous "dangerous" airport! Embark on a gentle trek through the Dudh Koshi River valley to the charming village of Phakding, where you'll spend the night in a comfortable teahouse.

Day 4

Trek to Namche Bazaar

The trail continues along a well-established path, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Cross the Hillary Bridge and gradually ascend to Namche Bazaar, a bustling gateway town known as the "Sherpa Capital." Settle into your teahouse and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.

Day X

Rest in Namche Bazaar (Optional Hike to Hotel Everest View)

Take a well-deserved rest day in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize to the higher altitude. Explore the shops, cafes, and immerse yourself in the Sherpa culture. In the afternoon, if you're feeling energetic, you can embark on an optional short hike to Hotel Everest View, offering panoramic vistas of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.

Day 6

Trek to Tengboche Monastery

Leaving Namche Bazaar, we follow a gentle trail through rhododendron forests and quaint villages. Our destination for the night is Tengboche Monastery, perched on a hilltop overlooking breathtaking mountain scenery. Visit the monastery and experience the tranquility of Buddhist life in the Himalayas.

Day 7

Trek to Dingboche

Continuing our ascent at a relaxed pace, we'll traverse yak pastures and enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas. Dingboche, our stop for the night, is situated in a picturesque valley surrounded by towering peaks. Relax and unwind in your teahouse, enjoying the fresh mountain air.

Day 8

Rest in Dingboche (Optional Short Hikes)

Another rest day for acclimatization! Enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Dingboche. You can opt for gentle walks in the nearby meadows or simply relax at your teahouse, soaking in the mountain views.

Day 9

Trek to Labuche

The landscape becomes more rugged as we follow a well-maintained trail. Reach Labuche, a small village situated at the foot of the Khumbu Icefall. Enjoy the unique atmosphere and breathtaking views from your teahouse.

Day 10

Trek to Gorakshep

Today's trek takes us to Gorakshep, located at a higher altitude than Namche Bazaar. The pace will be slow, allowing for ample time to adjust to the thinner air. Upon arrival, settle into your teahouse and prepare for an exciting visit to Everest Base Camp tomorrow.

Day 11

Day 11 (continued): Trek to Everest Base Camp and Trek to Labuche

An early start is rewarded with a visit to Everest Base Camp, a temporary settlement bustling with mountaineering activity. Savor the moment and witness the majestic Everest towering above you. Take photos and capture the essence of this iconic location.

However, considering your age and focus on a relaxed pace, we won't spend a night at Everest Base Camp, which can be quite basic and crowded. Instead, after enjoying the sights, we'll descend back to Labuche for the night, offering a more comfortable stay in a teahouse.

Day 12

Trek to Pangboche

Following a familiar path, we'll retrace our steps back down the valley, enjoying the changing perspectives of the mountains. Our destination for the night is Pangboche, a traditional Sherpa village nestled amidst stunning scenery. Relax and unwind in your teahouse, enjoying the local culture.

Day 13

Trek to Namche Bazaar

Our descent continues along the Dudh Koshi River valley. We'll encounter lush vegetation and charming villages along the way. Tonight, celebrate your successful trek with a farewell dinner in Namche Bazaar, a vibrant town with plenty of shops and cafes to explore.

Day 14

Trek to Ghat

Today's trek takes us to a lower altitude, offering a welcome change. The trail becomes easier, and the vegetation becomes more lush. Our destination for the night is Ghat, a village nestled amidst beautiful scenery. Enjoy a relaxing evening in your teahouse.

Day 15

Trek to Lukla

The final leg of our journey takes us back to Lukla. The trail is well-maintained and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Celebrate your achievement with your fellow trekkers and enjoy a farewell dinner in Lukla.

Day 16

Fly Back to Kathmandu

Weather permitting, we'll take a thrilling flight back to Kathmandu, enjoying the aerial views of the Himalayas one last time. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you'll be transferred to your comfortable hotel for a well-deserved rest.

Day 17

Departure

Bid farewell to Nepal! Depending on your departure schedule, you may have some free time for last-minute shopping or sightseeing before your transfer to the airport for your flight home.
